After installing the 123 HP Deskjet 2130 Printer Software and connecting the Printer to your Computer, You can make use of the 123 HP Deskjet 2130 Printer Software to Change the Network Connection type
Change the USB connection type to a wireless network
To change from an USB connection to a Wireless Connection for the Printer (windows):
- Open the 123 HP Deskjet 2130 Printer Software
- Click Utilities button
- Click Printer Setup & Software settings
- Select the option, Convert a USB connected printer to wireless
To change from an USB connection to a Wireless Connection for the Printer (OS X):
- Connect the Printer to the wireless network using Wireless button in the control panel
- Click Applications and select the Hewlett-Packard folder
- Click Device Utilities and Click 123 HP Deskjet 2130 Setup Assistant
- Follow the onscreen instructions to establish a wireless connection for your printer
Advanced Printer Management Tools
When a Printer is established a network connection you can use the Embedded Web Server to view status information, change settings and manage the printer through your computer.
Note: You can use the EWS without the internet access, conversely, only the basic features are available.
To open the EWS using a network connection:
- Locate the Printer control panel and simultaneously press both of the Wireless button and the Information button together to print the network configuration page
- Using a Web Browser type in the host name assigned to the Printer
- You can get access to only basic features of the Printer
To open the Embedded Web Server using the 123 HP Deskjet 2130 Printer Software (Windows OS):
- Open the 123 HP Deskjet 2130 Printer Software
- Click Print & Scan and then Click Printer Home Page
- You can get access to only basic features of the Printer
To open the Embedded Web Server through Wi-Fi Direct:
- Locate the Printer control panel and press the Wi-Fi Direct button to turn it ON
- If you need the Wi-Fi Direct Name and Password, then press the Information button to print the printer information page
- Using a wireless computer turn the wireless feature ON, and Scan for Wi-Fi Direct name and establish a connection. When prompted enter the password.
- Using a Web Browser type in the host name assigned to the Printer
Cookies
The Printer Web Server stores small text files called cookies on your hard drive while you access the printer functions. These text files enable the Embedded Web Server to restore settings to your previous browsing session. i.e., If you have selected a specific language on the EWS then you can restore settings the next time. Some Cookies are customer specific preferences and can only be deleted manually from the computer.
