123 HP Envy 4520 Printer Network Connection

Before you begin setting up the Printer to the Wireless Network, Ensure the following:

  • Check for the set up and working of wireless network
  • Printer and Computer is configured on the same network

Note: While connecting the Printer, you might be prompted for a wireless network name (SSID) and a password. Usually the Wireless Network Name is the name of your wireless network. According to the Network Security Levels the password might be either a WPA passphrase or a WEP key

Setting up the Printer for wireless Connection:

  1. Initial Printer Setup Procedures:
  • A wireless 802.11b/g/n network that is present with a WPS enabled wireless router. Check for a proper working Wireless Network connection

Note: Continuously Press WPS button for more than three seconds to enable the WPS push mode to synchronize Router with the Printer.

  • While connecting the Router, with WPS unavailable, you might be prompted for a wireless network name (SSID) and a password. You can use the default network name and the security passkey printed at the back or side of the wireless router.

  • Swipe down the Control Panel to open the Dashboard
  • Touch Settings button
  • Touch Wireless Settings button
  • Touch the Wireless Setup Wizard
  • Follow the on screen instructions to complete the setup

Note: If already the Printer is connected to the Network through USB then go to, Change the Network Connection type.

Change the Network Connection type:

  • Open HP Utility software and click Devices
  • Click Setup New Device
  • When the driver prompted for the Network Connection type select wireless
  • Follow the on screen instructions to complete the setup

To change from a Wireless connection to an USB Connection for the Printer (Apple OS X):

  • Open the System Preferences Tab and Click Add Printer
  • Click the Printers & Scanners button
  • Select the 123 HP Envy 4520 printer software from the list of printers and Click + sign to Add Printer
  • When the Add Printer Set up prompts for the network connection then select USB

Test for the Wireless Connection:

Turn ON or Turn OFF the Wireless capability of the Printer:

When the Wireless capability of the Printer is ON then the Printer Control Panel displays the Solid Blue Wireless Light

  • Swipe down the Control Panel to open the Dashboard
  • Touch Wireless settings button
  • Touch Settings
  • Touch Wireless Tab to switch it ON or OFF
