123 HP Envy 5540 Printer can send and receive Faxes, including color faxes, and also save them directly to a Shared Folder or Email Inbox. Using the Printer Software you can set a number of Fax option including resolution, contrast etc., that needs to be sent as Fax. Printer software allows you to run a fax set up test, in order to confirm on the fax settings.

Send a Standard Fax using Computer:

You can directly Fax a document from your Computer without the need for printing it. In Order to use this feature, ensures that you have installed the 123 HP Envy 5540 Printer software, own a working Telephone line and a recipient having access to HP Digital Fax feature.

1. Open the File from your Computer that is to be Faxed
2. Open 123 HP Envy 5540 Printer software and click Print
3. Click the Printer drop down list and select the recipient Printer that has a Fax name attached
4. Click the Properties dialog box to change between black fax and color fax options
5. Click OK button when you are finished with the settings
6. Click Print or OK button
7. Key in the fax number and other additional information of your recipient, and then click Send Fax button

Sending a Standard Fax using Computer (Apple OS X):

1. Open the File from your Computer that is to be Faxed
2. Open 123 HP Envy 5540 Utility software and click Print
3. Select the recipient Printer that has a Fax name attached to it
4. Enter the additional fax number or your recipient number
5. Click Fax button
