123 HP Envy 5660 Ink Cartridges Setup

Keep a check on the estimated Ink Levels:

Using the Printer Control Panel you can keep a check on the estimated Ink Levels:

  • Swipe down the Control Panel to open the Dashboard
  • Touch the Ink Tab to check the Ink Levels in the Cartridge

Using the 123 HP Envy 5660 Printer Software you can keep a check on the estimated Ink Levels (Windows OS):

  • Open the 123 HP Envy 5660 Printer Software
  • Click Estimated Ink Levels

Using the HP Utility you can keep a check on the estimated Ink Levels:

  • Open HP Utility software from the Hewlett-Packard folder
  • Select the 123 HP Envy 5660 from the list of Printers
  • Click Supplies Status to check on the estimated Ink Levels
  • Click All Settings to return to the Information and Support pane

Replace the Print Cartridges:

  • Make sure to turn the Power OFF for Printer and wait till the print carriage stops moving
  • Locate the Cartridge access door and remove its latch from the top of the printer, Now Pull Up the Cartridge access door to gain access to ink cartridges
  • Remove the latches present above the ink cartridges slot to release empty cartridges
  • Remove the Ink Cartridge from its package and peel off the plastic tape
  • According to the color coded letters slide the new cartridge in categorized slot until it firmly fits
  • Repeat the above process to replace the print cartridges
  • Affix the Cartridge latches after the ink cartridges are installed
  • Push Down to close the Cartridge access door and latch it on to Printer

Caution: Never turn off the Printer while Cartridges are missing. Immediately replace the missing cartridge to avoid ink system damage and possible extra ink usage.

  • Turn the Power ON for the 123 HP Envy 5660 Printer

Set up a Single Cartridge Mode:

123 HP Envy 5660 Printer is enabled with the Single Cartridge Mode to operate with only one ink cartridge. During this operation mode you can print, copy documents / photos using a Computer only. Whenever a ink cartridge is removed from the cartridge carriage the Printer automatically goes into Single Cartridge Mode.

Information on ink cartridges and the print head:

  1. Keep all the Ink Cartridges in the original sealed packages until there is in need
  2. Store the Ink Cartridges at room temperature
  3. Do not unnecessarily clean the print head since it shortens the life of the cartridges and results in Ink waste
  4. Avoid rough handling like dropping, jarring ink cartridges prior to its installation

Note: This Printer is designed to use ink cartridges for printing until the cartridges gets empty. If this happens replace the old ones with the new cartridge to continue printing

Exit single cartridge mode:

Install both of the ink cartridges to exit the single cartridge mode for Envy Printer

Order Ink Cartridges:

For ordering the Ink Cartridges go to 123.hp.com. Ordering cartridges online is not supported in all Countries/Regions. However, over a phone you can order the shopping list from a Local Store. Always replace the Cartridge according to its Cartridge Number. You can refer the Cartridge Number at the following places:

  1. Open the 123 HP Envy 5660 Printer software, Click Shop and then Click Shop for Supplies Online to get the correct Cartridge Number
  2. Open the HP Utility software from Hewlett-Packard folder, present within the Application folder. Click Supplies Info to get the Cartridge Number
  3. Also, available on the Labels of the Ink Cartridge
  4. Open the cartridge access door to refer for the Cartridge Number present on the Sticker

Information on Cartridge Warranty information:

The HP cartridge warranty is only applicable when the product is used in its designated 123 HP Envy 5660 Printing device. The end of warranty date can be found on the product in YYYY/MM format. The duration for the warranty period of the product is covered as long as the HP ink is not depleted and till the end of warranty date. This warranty is not applicable to HP ink cartridges that are refilled, re manufactured, refurbished, misused or tampered with.

Anonymous Printer Usage Information:

The HP Cartridge used in this Printer contains a memory chip that supports the operation of the printer. In addition, this memory chip has a limited capacity to store a standard set of anonymous information. i.e., Number of Pages printed, Page Coverage, Frequency of Printing and Print Modes etc,.

To disable the usage information function:

  • Swipe down the Printer Control Panel to open the Dashboard

  • Flick to the end of the option list and Touch Send Usage Info option to turn it OFF

Tips for working with Ink Cartridges:

  • To prevent the Cartridges from drying out you might need to turn the Printer OFF
  • Do not remove the tapes from cartridges since this effects in ink evaporation
  • Ensure the Cartridges are fixed firmly and latched
  • Consider getting replacement cartridges immediately, after the Estimated Ink Level Screen is in a Low state
